Becoming desperate now DS[16] has never really slept its now down to 2 hours if he's lucky. We tried melatonin it never worked.
I was going to take everything electronic off him but DH said no after what happened last time.[he attacked me that badly that we had to call the police out]
I woke him at 6 this morning so he could have breakfast we have to leave at 7.45 to get him to school left at 8 took him that long to have a shower and get dressed, he no longer lets me help him.
Anyone know of any meds available that I could ask his Dr to try him on.
Thanks.

what dose of melatonin did he try?

It might be worth asking his GP for something to help.

my ds is on risperidone to help him sleep. my paediatrician said its normally not given to a child, however had previously tried vallergan and other meds with no effect. he has been on for over a year now and it has been great. most nights he sleeps right through without getting up, whereas before i was lucky if he slept 2 hours. perhaps your gp will be able to recommend one. good luck :)

We also had vallergan and then alimemazine (used as a pre-med for anaesthetics).

Definitely follow up with the Paed or Doc to get another option to try.

my DS 17 ASD was the same, not getting any sleep and very anxious, took him to GP and he is now on cipramil drops ( cant swallow any sort of pills ) its meant for adults but he is only on 4 drops a day added to juice, normal lowest adult drops is 8 a day, it takes about 2 weeks to see the benefits but he has been on them for just over 3 weeks and his appetite is better and he is not so anxious and falls asleep easily, he also likes a cd of new age ambient music on.
