Just in case people wonder where I am, I'm undergoing treatment for breast cancer at the moment (eek)(not one of the simple sort, we think so far, but not totally disastrous so if they can hammer it with enough chemo and surgery I should be ok after 8 months or so). Operation yesterday to investigate it a bit more so a bit stiff and sore today. I'm hoping to be able to write something useful for the autism community about how to navigate through this stuff, since I don't think there's a thing out there (and 1 in 8 women, autistic or otherwise) now get breast cancer at some point in life.

So sorry to hear what you're going through. I really hope the treatment gets shot of it all first time round and you get back to normal quick smart.

You're amazing to still be thinking about how you could make this easier for others!

Make sure you let everyone take care of you xx

Eloise73 · 04/02/2011 12:02

Amber, am sending you loads of pixie dust and many many prayers.

Your advice, posts and contribution here have been such a comfort to me with an ASD daughter and I wish you nothing but good things, get well very soon!!!

Spinkle · 04/02/2011 12:26

Likewise.

You're wise beyond your years and now taking this latest hiccup with immense grace.

Keep strong.

vixen1 · 04/02/2011 12:29

Just wanted to add my best wishes for Amberlight, thinking of you xx

thederkinsdame · 04/02/2011 12:33

Take care, Amberlight. Look after yourself and I hope your treatment goes well.

amberlight · 04/02/2011 12:37

Luckily I have a very good sense of humour. Bearing in mind I'm a strange blue-green colour after yesterday's operation (which involves filling me with blue dye!) this is just as well. They assure me it will wear off after a day or two. Grin

You didn't fancy a quick name change to cobaltlight (or any other shade) until you're back to a regular shade? Smile

Good luck with your treatment Amber.

I know of at least 6 women who have had BC treatment in the last few years. They're all still around and I'm crossing my fingers for you too Smile

Best wishes Amber.

Let other people do some running around you for a day or two. I know your hubby had a bad time last year health wise - is he better now?
