I have been looking after a child for a little while now and to be honest, if they were mine I would be a tad worried. They just strike me as being different, not that there is anything wrong with being different, but I just have a niggle in the back of my head.

The child is nearly 4 and goes to nursery school. Surely the staff would have picked up on this wouldnt they - if they thought something wasnt quite right!?

The child does not (to me) seem to respond and my nearly 3 year old seems much more advanced. Maybe the child is just a slow developer! They like to play on their own really and their language skills are not great.

Do you think I have anything to be concerned about? Obviously I dont want to mention it to the parents just yet.

TIA

old thread on this

I've pasted in a link to one of the many similar threads in the SN archives - it has a link to an online developmental delay screening test. You might find it useful.

Without a bit more information it's difficult to say much about whether your concerns are justified or not
