I really want to go to this. Did I read ages ago that Davros and Jimjams are going? Are you OK Davros? Not heard from you for ages...

Davros is ok but her internet connection isn't!

We are both going. See you there?

JakBat · 11/10/2005 11:32

I thought you knew Davros?

I'll have my dh with me- urrrr not sure! Will have to CAT real names then stare at name badges.

JakBat · 11/10/2005 11:43

No, I've never made it to a meet-up in London so not met Davros etc...

LadyFioOfTipton · 11/10/2005 11:45

your tube journey i dont often travel in a tub

JakBat · 11/10/2005 14:35

Fio, what you going to honey? Are you coming to PECS thing?

the knitting and stitching show, some of the proceeds are going to treehouse and davros was suppossed to be canvassing but now she is just going to be nosey like me. No not coming to the pecs conference. Pecs ahs been and is a complete failure with dd, she completely aniailates the cards

hope you have a lovely time though

bakabat · 11/10/2005 14:55

oooh fio- I may need to ask you more (am thinking of doing a project to identify which children are likely to do well with PECS and which with Makaton as currently children just seem to get offered whatever their SALT is trained in- and I think they often tend to do better with one or another -DS1 has had 4 years of sign exposure now- and hasn't picked up a single sign- but it took us 3 years before we were paired with a PECS trained NHS therapist).

LadyFioOfTipton · 11/10/2005 15:00

yes you can ask whatever you like, she is quite good at signing now and yet she is very flappy/auti and doesnt really usually have much hand control but can sign

LadyFioOfTipton · 11/10/2005 15:02

and she also has fleeting eye contact but that is improving, but attention span is still very poor and she is easily distracted

JakBat · 11/10/2005 15:15

bakabat, DD only picked up one real sign- biscuit- which she over-generalised. We've had much more success with PECS

Love to but can't. Returning to UK on 12 November...
Really annoyed as they aren't yearly are they and it whoud whet my appetite nicely for my MSc in ABA that I'll be starting in a year?

Baka, your research idea sounds fascinating..would this be for your Masters course that you must have already started? From the sounds of your posts its going swimmingly.

BTW,asked on another thread (you may not have seen it) if you have experience of Intensive Interaction and/or Phoebe Caldwell who have joined forces it seems (article in Sunday Telegraph about her new book. She came to do some work for us-wacky lady and very practical, sort of terribly posh carpenter/therapist lol!)
