Hypoplasia or atrophy i really wish they would make their minds up

My ds had an MRI at the age of 2, it came back clear. They repeated the MRI when he was 9, it showed moderate cerebellar atrophy. The neuro and paed said it doesn't mean it's shrinking, the geneticist is saying if it wasn't present on the first scan it isn't hypoplasia. Have just had an appt summary from the paed saying cerebellar hypoplasia.
I wish they would make their flipping minds up it's either one or the other Angry

Hi toerag, I read your posts on the genetic testing thread! Your dc's really have the doctors stumped don't they? Sorry nothing useful or helpful to add, just hope you get some clarity and answers soon!
