SN children

Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Do we need a new Special Needs section for Transition and Adults?

What do others think? Mine are 13 and 15, but will be older soon enough.

I think this sounds a good idea, though mine are still only 7 and 5 they won't always be that age.

There is one, its SN teens, assuming that works for what you have in mind. Have a look. HTH

We tried a teens section and no one posts there much, so I'd be worried that a transition section would just gather dust and tumbleweeds.

Agree the teens section is sadly underused so would prefer it all stays here.

Hi TooJung
My DD is nearly 14 and I agree with others- I use this section cos its busier..
Today we have our annual statement review, which is also her transition review as she's yr 9 now. Problem is she's refsing to go to schoolat all Confused -and without her cooperation I cant physically leave the house.
She's ASD, epilepsy, learning disabilities BTW.

I think it would be better to post items about transition on this section as then everything about SN is kept in one place. I posted here a couple of weeks ago about Employment and Support Allowance for my DD (16 and PMLD) and got some useful advice. Also by keeping it on here, those with younger children will pick up and store useful snippets of info for the future.

I've been asked to speak at Shire Hall tomorrow in front of 60 professionals from Council & PCT about my experience of transition process for DD so far. Not something I'm used to doing - so I'm dreading it - but I think it will be worthwhile for them to hear about how it is for us!
Wish me luck!

Lots and lots of luck to bigbluebus!!!

Agree with the others, its best not to have a separate section as they have been underused. Good luck with the talk blue.
