We have been working up to this... Today ds got on the bus, asked for his ticket and paid, sat down coped and pressed to stop button at the right stop.

I was with him and he forgot to take his ticket, the bus driver was ace and eplained he needed to always wait for his ticket :)

but I let ds take charge and he did it!.. Few more of these and he will go on the bus on his own ( with me trailing behind lol)

we may get there guys :)

well done littlemrcarrotcake :)
how old is he?

auntevil · 22/01/2011 19:26

I love happy stories. Well done to Carrotino.
How did he feel at the end of the trip?

5inthebed · 22/01/2011 19:27

Aww fab! Well one to your DS :)

Thecarrotcake · 22/01/2011 19:35

He's 12 :)

he was really pleased with himself.. I did have to take charge on the bus home as he also manage to go round town for a bit .. And it was busy busy.

He's now on a yellow and in his chill out space.

But he did really well and even said " I might try that again!" :o

That is so good that he might want to try it again. First steps to some independence in the big wide world. Defo worth celebrating and trying to get rid of your Christmas liquor supply! Grin

StartingAfresh · 22/01/2011 19:53

'I might try that again'

Yay! That's a SN proud mummy equivelent to 'I've asked her to marry me' or 'I've been accepted at Oxford' etc.

Bloody brilliant!

Thecarrotcake · 22/01/2011 19:53

AE... :o

Post again when Carrotino can go solo. It will be another good news post showing that persistence pays. It gives everyone hope - and we all need a bit of that at times!

Thecarrotcake · 22/01/2011 20:06

Oh I will :)

It may take some time lol.. We are doing lots of little steps going over and over... Same as we did with traffic light crossings.. Although road crossing is still an issue in general.. But we will get there :)

Lovely, well done Carrot and son! Smile

So nice to hear this, it really helps people like me who are finding it hard to believe their ds will ever be able to do this sort of thing on their own.

A large glass of Baileys tonight then is it? Wink

Spinkle · 22/01/2011 21:24
