hi my ds 5 is on TEACCH at school although im not sure they use it intensively. Basically it structures his day so he knows what, when and how long each activity is through his day. A picture schedule really. It initially started with RL pictures of him entering the classroom, carpet time, painting etc till hometime. It was then decided to move to symbols. He would hang his coat and go to the schedule, i'd go through each activity with him, then take the 1st one, he'd go back for the second when that activity ended (with help)etc... till he had worked through to the last one home time. He would put each symbol near him till it was time to finish and then place each in the finish box. A timer was sometimes used or warning when that activity was going to finish. She also had a keyring of symbols on her person for specific things eg no shouting, stop... Its seems to grow with them as they become more able to deal with things. HTH
