As I spend most of my time on the SN board, I must have missed the new emoticon coming

I am very ignorant and have led a sheltered live Grin Blush, what is the bear emoticon for?

I think it came after the pom bear thread!

Peaceflower · 17/01/2011 08:44

Still none the wiser?

Apologies for appalling typing, the keys seem to be misbehaving Blush

There was a long thread about someone being invited to a strange dinner party. When the poster invited them back they served up pom bears as a canape. It might still be around in mumsnet classics it is, I'll try a linky
think this couple are bonkers

starfishmummy · 17/01/2011 09:02

No link didn't work.

If you go into mumsnet classics it is called to think this couple are bonkers.

I did have the same question, (as I couldn't think what possible post would merit the comment, 'teddy bear') then my dh sent me back to bed after ds had appallingly bad night, so i used it there to say what a sweetie... Blush

oh, that was a very funny thread Grin can you imagine having a relatively posh dinner party and walking into the room saying, pombear anyone? Grin so the Bear is an emoticon to be used for slightly bonkers behaviour, very tongue in cheek.

Peaceflower · 17/01/2011 11:58

Bigcar, perfect explanation, I get it now (I think). Just need an opportunity to use it Grin

I bought some pombears for the dcs at Christmas and was looking round the aisle furtively to see if anyone was sniggering. I must admit I now smile to myself when I see them in the shop and wonder how many Mumsnetters are doing the same. Smile

Housemum · 17/01/2011 16:15

I was about to snigger at the Pom Bears at a birthday party DD3 went to on Saturday, I was sure the mum was a Mumsnetter - until she brought the Fruit Shoots out Shock so obviously wasn't. Hmm, unless it was a subtle test...

Ineedalife · 17/01/2011 19:39

Oh no don't get the fruit shoot discussion started on here please Grin

bigcar · 17/01/2011 19:45

oh go on, I like a good barny Grin

I must admit I do look differently at people who serve up pom bears these days!
