How do I deal with all the schooling questions?

Hi all, am a namechanger as I feel a bit raw and emotional.

DS will not be going to mainstream school due to his ASD dx. However people keep asking me which school we are sending him to (they don't know about his dx). Hairdressers, acquaintances etc.

I feel so awkward when they ask me. I wouldn't say I am in denial but don't want to discuss it with those who are not close to me as I am still coming to terms with it. Does that make sense? Any tips on how to handle it?

Maybe just tell a white lie and say you arent sure yet?

I had this last year, we were not sure where dd2 was going so i just told people she was going to the local ms school.

We wanted dd2 to go to the sn school but we were turned down, dd2 is now at the ms school with full time support from a 1:1.

Can you just say smuggly that your father is head of admissions so you won't need to decide until August, aren't you lucky?
