I'm so happy, we've been awarded middle rate DLA for our DS...

It means we can carry on with the gym tots which is helping him in so many ways; it means we can go to soft play whenever we like (so good for developing his low muscle tone and coordination); we can buy him a weighted blanket and we can afford to build him a play area outside adapted to his needs and what he likes.

More than the money though, the biggest thing for me about it is the fact that I now know I'm not crazy or crap. I know it sounds odd but I feel relieved that the law agrees with me - he does need significantly more help and supervision than other children - probably why I'm so tired, stressed and on antidepressents. All along I've worried this was because I just wasn't cut out for parenting, I couldn't understand why every other mother I know seemed to cope so much better than me...

I really feel that we can use this money to make a big difference in DS's development Smile

Sorry for waffling on, I just wanted to share the relief!

Good on you. I hope your DS will love his new play area. Should be ready for this lovely long warm spring/summer that we're all due Grin

DameEdnaBeverage (love the name!) - Definitely do it! It took a lot of persuation from a good friend of mine before I finally did it. Let me know if I can help at all, or the other ladies on here are a fantastic source of advice too...

He and his twin brother are going to LOVE their play area Grin. I'm going to start building it next week (we also won £1000 on the lottery on New Year's Day so a good start to the year all round!)

Auntevil - So hope you're right about the long hot summer Grin
