Hello, Hope you all had a good Christmas, I was just thinking about the new year, my son (ASD 9,) school etc etc and that maybe we might get somewhere this year education wise. (I like to try start the beginning of each new year in a positive way, however, this is usually beaten out of me by early March!! ) Anyway, I just got to thinking about the Governments Green Paper on SEN, has anyone heard anything about it yet? I contributed my views/opinions back in July and though the outcome was due to be released in the Autumn of 2010 - it seems to have all gone worryingly quiet!!

is that the lamb enquiry, I think they have issued outcomes, will try to find it later.

StartingAfresh · 07/01/2011 11:52

No, it's a bit like the SEN budget.......

Maybe they're waiting for a natural disaster to release it at the same time, or perhaps they haven't completed their anti-SN PR though the media yet.

I didn't realise it was late! May be they saw all the responses and thought . . . oh shit . . .

superfantastic · 07/01/2011 12:25

It was due out mid december but is now delayed until mid feb...due to the responses to the white paper I think.

donkeyderby · 07/01/2011 15:25

I thought it was out already....

Donkey wonders what exactly it is she read in December

superfantastic · 07/01/2011 15:45

The white paper maybe? Or the lamb enquiry?

Green is on the way. :)

StartingAfresh · 07/01/2011 15:53

The Ofsted Disability Review?

donkeyderby · 07/01/2011 20:28

White paper. Quite probably

time4chocolate · 07/01/2011 21:38

Thanks ladies Smile - I just wanted to check that it hadn't passed me by whilst I was in a Christmas haze. I guess it is just a waiting game then.

Quick question, why is is that us SN parents are always playing a waiting game with professionals then as soon as they want something it has to be done by last week?

Oh dear, thats a record, my optimistic mood has lasted all of 7 days! Wink

Look here for an analysis of responses received.

Hopefully this works as I'm rubbish at doing links :(

Interesting reading, apparently the paper was due in Dec 2010, but has been delayed to early 2010, whatever that means.

StartingAfresh · 07/01/2011 23:13
Sad

Can't open the link!

StartingAfresh · 07/01/2011 23:22

does this work?

Peaceflower · 07/01/2011 23:36

well done, Star. Works perfectly.

time4chocolate · 08/01/2011 18:29

Thanks Star - have digested the responses - lets hope they pay attention to the results or the whole thing turns into another farce and waste of money.
