Thanks Star

I'm an occassional poster and frequent lurker and often think about all those reading and hope they find it helpful even if not ready/able to post themselves.

Have been brave and actually started a thread! (wonder if my Local authority lurk!)

auntevil · 05/01/2011 14:18

A happy new year to you all. wishing you health, wealth (emotional as well!) and happiness

cornshilk007 · 05/01/2011 14:25

I worry loads about the LA lurking and recognising me - it's why I'm always messing about with my name.

KATTT · 05/01/2011 14:39

If the LA lurk - do you wish them a good new year too?

StartingAfresh · 05/01/2011 14:43

Yeah, sure, why not?

ALthough my interpretation of 'good new year' might be a bit different from theirs.

I mean that I wish that all their charges prosper through their late nights, thorough assessments and general good practice and they reach the end of 2011 with a minimum of tribunals and strife! Grin

how many lurkers do you think we have?
if you are a lurker please show yourself, we dont bite (but kids do Wink )

KATTT · 05/01/2011 14:45

I'll drink to that.

queenofboak · 05/01/2011 15:02

I'm a lurker and very greatful for this forum, have posted before but had a namechange since then.

The advice i took from here helped me get my middle rate DLA for dd (nearly 3 ASD dx in December)

So thanks and Hello!

Minx179 · 05/01/2011 15:02

Happy new year too.

Out of interest. What difference does it make if the LA do discover your identity?

Madoldbird · 05/01/2011 15:13

I'm an occasional poster & frequent lurker - and a Happy New Year to you all from me!

My NY resolution - to post more!!

meltedmarsbars · 05/01/2011 15:20

I'm an occasional poster and frequent lurker too.

Happy New Year to you all, and to all the dedicated professionals who help our dc's!

KATTT · 05/01/2011 15:48

minx179

They could in theory (although I can't quite see how) use information against you. Especially at tribunal, it's an adversarial system and they are 'the enemy'.

Ben10isthespawnofthedevil · 05/01/2011 16:10

lurker and occasional poster under old name here! thanks for all of your help!

Ineedtinsel · 05/01/2011 16:13

I am a poster not a lurker and I think this forum should be enforced reading for all LA workersGrin

cornshilk007 · 05/01/2011 18:15

minx I would be embarrassed if the professionals that work with my ds from the LA (or NHS) recognised me I think! Certainly don't want to be outed or for them to know what I'm asking about on here.

andperseand · 05/01/2011 18:48

I lurk more than I post and have found some great advice here. Happy New Year to all (though to LA and NHS through gritted teeth - with a very few exceptions).

Would love to post more but so much to say would not know where to start. Seriously thinking of turning it into a book called something like 'Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse'. This week's chapter is entitled 'And Today's Suggestion is ...' Grin

yoshysmum · 05/01/2011 18:57

I am a lurker and occasional poster, so happy new year everyone, hope we all win our battles this year and everyone is as happy and healthy as can be.

StartingAfresh · 05/01/2011 20:14

Sorry you're having a rough time and!

Thanks Starting. Will actually try and post soon because I could do with some MN wisdom Smile

happymummy2010 · 05/01/2011 20:24

Hi

I have posted a few times recently but have been lurking for quite a while now !!

Thanks for all your advice and for sharing your experiences & expertise - I have learnt so much about ASD & ADHD from reading your posts which has been invaluable to me !

Wishing you and all your lovely DC a very Happy New Year.

dietstartstmoz · 05/01/2011 20:52

I'm fairly new to these boards and have 2 Ds's who have an assessment with Paed next week for ASD/ADD etc? Been on MN for approx 5 yrs+ but only been posting on SN boards since Nov. Have already learnt so much, and had lots of useful tips. I'm sure I'll be on here blubbing next week and asking for more help. thanks for all the support so far, and have a Biscuit everyone

1980Sport · 05/01/2011 22:18

Happy new year everyone, I hope it's a good one! I've been posting on the SN board for a few months now - thank you for all your help and support. You might hear from me again in a few weeks when first set of genetic results are back for ds! In the meantime I'll lurk and impart advice (not sure I've much to share yet) and support if I think it might be of help :)

LaydeeC · 06/01/2011 13:50

another lurker with very occassional posting - have started to post many times but too much to say!
Happy New Year to all!

Toppy · 06/01/2011 16:00

Happy New Year from another lurker and occasional (loooong) poster here - sometimes I do big draft posts and hit cancel at the last minute on account of how they are all me me me. I am so grateful for this board. Managed to get my Request for SA in to our council on Christmas Eve after lots of advice here allowing me to switch off for a couple of weeks. (they will prob hate me for the timing - perhaps I should call and explain that I just wanted it sent off - not to shaft them on their CoP timings etc ?)
