Yes, Dobbies is fantastic. The Cumbernauld one, while central, probably has the smallest cafe tho.

The Stirling one is new and has big cafe (I notice that quite a lot of disabled folk are often in, presumably because of the space).

Aside from Perth and Dundee (which I guess are not that central except for the Tayside folk) the other big one I know of is just outside Edinburgh, next to the butterfly world. It's huuuggee. Never been to Milngavie or to Dunfermline but imagine they are similar to Stirling. (I am sensing I spend way too much time in Dobbies cafes around Scotland!!)

SookieD · 05/01/2011 16:33

I forgot to say....

How about we pick up on willow's suggestion that for coffee with kids we do first thing one of the weekend mornings? That way, we don't have to worry about matching up school/nursery times and should be able to get in to a cafe while it's still quiet. Assuming we can live with the early start that is. So, Dobbies, but where?

Milngavie
Stirling
Midlothian

and a

Saturday or
Sunday

Votes from all interested please.....

borderslass · 05/01/2011 16:35

The Dobbies at Edinburgh is huge and it's easily found, right next to the bypass.

shaz298 · 05/01/2011 16:36

Of those 3 Stirling would prob be best for me, but don't want to be selfish.......x

glittery · 05/01/2011 16:39

oooh i've never been to the Edinburgh one!

I'm tempted to say a Sunday as ds usually stays at his grans on a friday night but that can easily be changed to a saturday night if need be so either Saturday or Sunday?
Edinburgh, Milngavie or Stirling is fine with me...decisive eh! Grin

The Edinburgh one is big and has Butterfly world next door for anyone who might like to walk among the butterflies or hold a tarantula!!!! Is that not a bit far for Glasgow folks? xx

tabulahrasa · 05/01/2011 23:52

(isn't doing a meet cos she hasn't been posting that long)

but I got all overexcited there - Livingston dobbies (well the building site) is only half a mile from me as well

glittery · 06/01/2011 09:20

tabula theres no length of posting requirement, come along! Smile
Edinburgh is a doddle for me, we're up there umpteen times a year at the Sick Kids anyway so the car could drive itself!
i aint holding no tarantulas mind you!
