Must SN parents do jury service?

Hi all, hope Christmas wasn't too traumatic an experience!

Just got home to a jury service summons. Happy Christmas to me!

DS (9 months) has complex medical issues, pump fed etc. Receives highest disability allowance. In short he's a darling, but a bugger to care for, can't leave him with a sitter, would need to be a trained nurse or similar. Hubby works full time.

Anyone know if I'm likely to be excused?

I would think so - have heard about similar cases being excused before.

when DD2 was being tested for eye cancers they let DH off and that didnt involve half of what you do. I would write to them explaining, shoud be fine

If you fill in the form telling them you are the main carer of a child with SN and there is no-one else available to look after your dc, then they should excuse you. I have been excused from jury service in the past as I have 2 children of school age and they were unable to guarantee me school hours jury service.
