Ds2 is managing looking forward to Christmas without getting anxious

He chose a present for his dad and his therapist ALL ON HIS OWN!

He helped decorate the tree.

He enjoyed the cinema yesterday and kissed me all the way through Grin

Merry Christmas to everyone here.

Please list your reason to feel festive if you can....

So much good news!

I am especially pleased about your DD Fanjo - been a rough year IIRC with the nursery.

lovely, lovely thread.

this year i am grateful, that my ds has had far less meltdowns at home than last year, and that he has started to think out side of the now and also about others needs. he got me cutlery when dp made me a sanwich this morning because he thought dp had forgotten and that i would like them. i'm blocking out the fact he had his hand in the cutlery draw Xmas Grin

I am grateful we now have a diagnosis, that we have a really good supportive team of professionals, (i have 'pruned' them over the year) Xmas Grin.

I am glad ds now has 270 signs and is making 3 sign sentences.

I am grateful that altho things are still tough, I feel hopeful for the future...

Aaah this is a lovely thread :)

I saw my amazing friends last night, and was inundated with presents from them, so was a bit Blush because I don't know them well enough to have got them anything this year and it took me by surprise that they'd got me things Blush I know for next year though, I suppose!

But it was great, we set the world to rights, including various things about the DLA assessments, and about how they're all driving or learning now and generally recounting the good times! Was lovely :)

Oooh, and I'm so happy, my uncle's health seems to be improving, and he might even be able to get up in his wheelchair for part of the day :)

This year I'm grateful that, through having DP in my life (1 year on the 7th Dec) I also have DNiece (5, asd) and Nephew (3, NT)

I am thrilled that I got to take DNephew to see Santa yesterday and he was so excited he didn't speak!!!

And I'm also thrilled that, because of this board, I can be really encouraging of DSis out of law because DNiece is starting to say she needs the toilet when she has wet or soiled her nappy Xmas Grin. Without MNSN I wouldn't have known how brilliant that progress was Xmas GrinXmas WinkXmas Grin

This year I'm grateful that DS2 arrived safely, that dd's childminder can do some pickups despite the school being far away, and that ds1 has been offered music therapy. For a dh who somehow puts up with all of us and I couldn't manage without. And for some lovely friends who've helped me get through the year.

oh my goodness

for the first christmas in as long as i can remember ds2 coped with all the presents and exceitment. normally about this time i am having to nip off for a discreet cry because the whole thing is too much for him and he is having a screaming tantrum.
this year we are playing and looking at our toys and books

" I am very happy mummy"

unbelievable.....only took 14 years Smile

Merry christmas all Grin

DS (5) had better awareness about xmas this year.
He understood that Santa brings presents, and showed a little more eagerness to open his presents, at least we didn't have to almost do it all for him this year.
He also clicked that christmas means a holiday.
Thanks to the calendar we have been crossing ooff each night and talked about, stuck Pecs and pictures to,... for the past year. Xmas Smile
