My daughter has been seen once by CAMHS, they said they would see her again (at school this time) and get the OT to see her and also see her again with me at the CAMHS dept again. However, she hasnt been seen at school yet ot by OT but I have been asked to go tomorrow to see them but letter says it isnt necessary to see her.

Is it normal for them to just see the parent?

We haven't been to CAMHS yet [going on monday], but I have had this experience with the Paed, we met twice without Dd3 to discuss her issues.

Maybe they want to discuss some stuff with you that they don't need her for.

Yes, CAMHS do have appoints with just the parent sometimes. Sometimes they need a childs developmental history and this can take time, and is easier to do without the child there. Sometimes, it is to discuss the parents feelings on whats going on and if they have already seen your dd, they may have some feedback for you.
One thing, I dont know what your dds difficulties are, but do not be "persuaded" they are down to parenting. Not saying this is going to happen at all, but be persistent on what you think the problems are.
Also, ask them why the OT hasnt been into school yet, and could they tell you when that will happen.

:) we've had the odd meetings on our own.. Tends to be the more indepth talking about ds rather than including and working with him ones.

they took all the developmental history last time, maybe they want to know how things are now she had been home ed and started school just after half term so had only been there a week when she was seen

agree with bigpants on the "parenting" comments. Ive seen camhs a few times without my son and spoken on the phone a few times when my son (age 6) has hit crisis point and they always mention parenting and the old favourtie line "hes controlling you blah blah". You may have a good camhs in your area but in my area the doctors and Senco agree they are useless
