Ds is starting to read and recognise words.5.6 with Gdd severe verbaland oral dyspraia , hype rmoblityl low muscle tone

If you ask him which is mum , dad , is , me etc he can recognise them and sign them .Was so proud that he came home from school with a proper reading book.Not bad for a dc that was written of when starte din rec eption in ms now in speech unit and differance in teaching has made the differance

Lovely to read everyone's good news Smile

Thought I'd share mine too. Dd (age 10 recently dx'd with DCD) was elected for pupil council. Along with the other children in class she had to stand up and deliver a speech as to why she would be a good candidate. I am so proud and she has had a massive confidence boost too Grin

Some of these make me feel quite glassy eyed. We ought to keep a good news thread for us all to look at when we have one of those days where we could gladly walk out the door and shut it behind us. The hard work often clouds over the wonderful moments we have as well.

Bump and more good news from me Ds has been able to make a B sound today for the first time ever Grin

And teacher showed me where he has tried writing his name lots of adult help talking him through it and some overwriting but you can see he was trying

And top it of the school unit agreed that ds would benefit repeating a year and will back me on fight if Lea say no.But the Lea there today was all for it

DD managed the Christmas Concert with no upset at all! Xmas Grin

Met a SALT at university who agreed to help DD for free on a regular basis. Xmas Grin
