How do I get my 7 year old with ASD to write a mythical story?

he hates writing, he hates 'made up things' and he hates homework.

Usually, I get him to dicate to me what he wants to write, then I write it down, then I make him copy it out.

There must be a better way.

Listen to a few Greek myths on audio.

Then set it out like a logical report type thing.
But break it down.. Charators-names, what they can do, what the weakness is, what famous battle or quest etc etc

then type it up for him :)

I've done an emotion graph for a known myth, I think it might have been Perseus.
Does he have to think up a storyline of his own, or retell a myth?

A myth usually explains the unexplainable
How rainbows came to be, why we have seasons, why the sea is salty, that sort of thing.
