Ring the council to get your roads gritted

Grit here is usually reserved for main roads and bus routes. But I just rang our council and said could we have our roads gritted because I have a disabled child and it's dangerous to drive on our road, the car is just slipping and sliding everywhere. Expected to have a fight on my hands and they just want OK we'll put it on the list. Yay!! Grin

I might try that tomorrow. DD1 goes in a taxi but the school buses go down our road too and it never gets gritted.

I called ours today for the grit box to be refilled. They put us down no problem too - grit box still empty though! Maybe it'll be full in the morning.......... We live on a steep hill.

They told me it goes on a first come, first served basis which I guess is fair enough. If I'd have known I'd have rung as soon as the first snowflake settled!!
