because of the snow, poor thing, and she wasn't the last one on the bus! Sad

Have told school they should remember that many pupils travel long distances and they should send home at lunchtime if risky weather!

Totally agree with you- my ds's bus got totally stranded for 3 hours a couple of years ago- no food or drink on the bus.I phoned the school and told them the snow was piling up here as thay didn't have any at school, but they left it too late. I phoned the transport dept.to find out their emergency policy(didn't seem to have one ) I think a police 4 x 4 was on it's way when the bus managed to get to town.I had to pick him up on a home made sledge with blankets and hot water bottles-I'd been really worried,he seemed quite happy!.We don't often get snow here ...

Two pupils had to stay the night at DS's school and we are only 12 miles from the Houses of Parliament. I presume they holed up in Medical where the beds and the telly are. Deputy Head and School Business Manager stayed with them and they are pictured on the school website looking pleased as punch with their adventure. Bet their Mums had a sleepless night.
DS's bus turned back en route to school. He phoned and asked me to put kettle on. We gave driver/escort hot drinks in our travel mugs, and hot water bottles for those children still on.
[Blimey, and I took 3 kids home from DD's school when it shut yesterday, and I've cleared paths for two elderly neighbours today. I'm a fecking saint]

amazingly I've had a call today letting me know there's no transport so no school tomorrow-maybe they've got better (re my last post) perhaps complaining sometimes works! :)
