SN children

Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Look I know my rather large child spins and flaps but I didn't have a choice today!

But he likes the christmas fair..

And To those who were in sainsburys gawping at that very tall blonde lad who was spinning and flapping and repeating and touching things... Get over it.. He went from excited to having to go to the supermarket with me.. And you could actually just not gawp..( so much so that the old couple nearly crashed their trolley) You could speak to us or ask whatever it is you wanted to know. He does talk.. He is not contagious it's just AS/ASC and sensory stuff... No biggy!

Gahhhhhh

anyway we are back now and he's fine..and calm.

Next time, wrap some tinsel around him, it will look even more exciting. Grin

I know, but I'd rather laugh than scream.
Mine loves tinsel and lights, he doesn't spin or flap, but he does touch and tap and stand and stare.
Oblivious to those watching and wondering.

Ohhh tinsel!!! We love tinsel.. We bury our face in it and do the comedy laugh :)

ds isn't normally as bad as today.. The Xmas fair wound him up.. And he had to come to terms with just taking dd to see father Christmas .. And NOT sitting on his lap!
:)

Mine's trying to do GCSE revision and deal with Christmas excitement. That and being promised snow by the Met office, and them not following throug on the promise.
Bit stressy chez Goblin for the next three weeks.

Omg! ( passes a warm mince pie and a mulled wine).. How did the mocks go ?

Ds1 is upstairs revising.. Gah!

His mocks run from the 6th to the 13th, but getting all the coursework and revision done is upholl work.
One of the joys is that he's G&T for Art and loves it, so he can practise all the ideas at home, see it as relaxation and still be ready for the day-long exam piece.
English is another matter entirely. Smile
Never look at the thread section, so I didn't notice where it was posted. Who needs order and little boxes anyway?

Goblinchild · 27/11/2010 17:06

upholl work?
uphill work
although I could have said uphell work I suppose.

TheArsenicCupCake · 27/11/2010 17:29

:) @ uphell :)

very cool your ds is G&T at art ( that's my subject and job :) .. Any help you need just yell..:)

ds1 is all maths and science .. Been asked apply for two colleges.. He's weighing them both up! ..

Ds2 is also maths an science.. Both boys are g&t at those... Both are dyslexic... But only ds2 got the full jigsaw!.. Ds1 got ds2s share of social/communication... And ds2 got ds1s share of sensory issues lol poor kid.

But gsces are not fun at the best of times!

Whenever I get fed up with it all, I look back through his enormous file full of aggression and bewilderment from all corners, and I realise just how far we've come from the feral beast that he was.
Pigs in clover now, that's us.
I just want him to be happy and able to live in the world, and I've got that.
Anything else is icing. Smile
Hard life, making it as an artist/graphic designer and earning a living from it.
Much respect heading your way.
