My DS has been awarded high rate care component of DLA for which I am very grateful since it will pay for some of his specialist nursery fees. Can any one advise me re tax redit since I heard that these may also increase. Is this correct? Many thanks for any answers.

yes if you have a child that gets DLA at anyrate you get extra but if you have a child that gets high rate you get even more. They also backdate it to whenever you were awared DLA. Think its an extra 2K a year :)

sorry to but in but wondered if the additional £2k is dependent on earnings?

No, the extra 2k is a set amount :)

So we only receive the basic family element appox £500 is per year.
Expecting to be awarded fingers crossed Higher rate DLA.

Would be fab to get the extra tax credit as would pay for extra nursery.
