Direct Payments Re-Assessment Next Week - Should I Be Afraid?

Would be grateful if anyone could advise!

I have 3 children, one of whom has ASD, and have been receiving DPs (4hrs per week) for a year now. I received a letter the other day saying SS are coming round to reassess our needs. I'm really nervous, firstly because, although I have been totally above board in terms of using the money for a respite carer I haven't fulfilled any of their ridiculously stringent administrative conditions, and secondly because I'm convinced the only reason they're coming, post cuts, is to take the money away.

Has anyone had a reassessment recently, and am I right to be scared!

I think you will be ok on that level, our SW did mention about cuts to DP but she's not doing it yet.
Good luck.

We've just had ours downgraded from 6-4 hrs a week but I agree why as our DD is much more healthy than she was.

However the 4 hours they are giving us until she starts school in September - we were very surprised (and v happy!).

Thanks for the replies. Maybe I'm being a bit too negative!
