www.danwebcast.com/

If you are interested in biomedical intervention in autism/asd, this conference provided by the Defeat Autism Now people in the states, is free for download till 30 September. It is absolutely fantastic and no where will you get this kind of information so easily.

I have downloaded 25 hours of speeches and info and made a copy for my doctors.

If you have ever thought of looking into the medical aspects of your autistic child, this is the place to go. BUt hurry, ends soon!

(for those who dont know about DAN, they have been in existence since 1967 and have world reknowned doctors)

Also, i would strongly urge you to have your kids blood and urine and faeces checked. You might be amazed at what is really going on. THe NHS will NOT offer this as a matter of course. I know i wasnt. Only after researching and providing proof to my doctors did they agree. In particular on the DAN webcast is Dr Baker talking about methionine. If you get this checked you may be stunned by the results. IN my own son, his methionine is defective and has produced a seriously undermined immune system.

Autism has many medical correlations but the NHS wont urge you to investigate this! I did it myself and my son has greatly improved!

Thanks mama. I'm intrigued by your posts. In a nutshell, what have you found with your son and how have you remedied it and with what resuilts?
(If you have the energy!)

Thanks for asking mizmiz. I expected some negative comments regarding this post and i am so glad you are interested because as you know things are changing and methods are available. But in the U.K. we just havent caught up yet.

What have i found with my son? Jeez have you got all day? The most important thing i found from a simple blood work up with the NHS is that he has defective methionine protein. His is minus 10, basically not there. Methionine simply, acts as an oxidant in the methylation process. If you dont have it, you are prone to oxidants and toxins and cant excrete properly. If you look at the web site i posted you will found out everything you ever wanted ( or didnt want ) to know about oxidation and methylation. It is sooo important.

Anyway, my son also has extremely high lead levels, way too much copper, iron and so many other things. So i took this initial test to an environmental doctor here who was able to interpret the results (he is a toxicologist as well). He follows the DAN protocol for various supplements and my son has received the following:

ionized zinc
calcium, selenium, grapeseed extract, baby probiotics, glutathiamine, co q 10, essential fatty acids, the list continues. The greatest help has been methionine which is included in the zinc.

In one week his excema which was absolutely horrendous cleared up completely. I have before and after pictures to show my doctor.

My son was doing a lot of staring out windows and was very clingy and was spending a lot of time just tuned out. He went through this stage before and i put him on the GFCF diet. Now he is sooo sociable and has starting mouthing words, something he has never ever done. He hums tunes and is just so different in a way only a mom could notice.

The biomedical intervention i have used is part of a protocol used by the DAN doctors. There are doctors in the UK who will do this for you too. One of great note is Dr Heard at the Breakspear Hospital in Hemel Hempstead.

Dr Heard and many doctors from the DAN movement including Dr Jim Neubrander (internationally known environmental doctor from the US) will be speaking in Edinburgh on 14-15 October. I hope to be there to listen to the cutting edge stuff on Autism. WE need this information. It wont be coming your way via the NHS. No one is going to break down your door to let you know about it. Its a very small, almost cliquey group who know about this info, people who are on web forums and parents groups. I know of at least two others in my town who are using biomedical intervention and with fantastic results.

As a last note, i am going to try chelation asap. The method i will be using is made from cilantro and chlorella The ingredients must be pure and not tainted with open water mercury of any kind. I get mine from my doctor who gets it from Germany.

Chelation takes out the heavy metals and this particular form does not cross the blood brain barrier. Maybe this is way too much info for you but this is what i have learned after only 2 months of researching and talking to people. The parent becomes the expert. We have to!!!
hope that helps.
Any info you want, i will be more than happy to provide it to you. Its out there and there are people happy to give it to you.

I should add, we are only 2 weeks on supplements. I am going to be giving my son mb12 soon (which if you want info, go to www.drneubrander.com). But first i have to heal his gut and get rid of the amazing amount of yeast in his system. Autistic kids are prone to yeast, particularly candida. A simple stool test will veryify this. You can get this on the NHS.

Also, i noted that the lead in my son was coming from lead pipes which run from the street to my house. Its expensive but i am having them replaced. In my own council they will replace the pipes from the road to your house for free. You have to pay for the pipes leading from your house to the new pipes. There are grants for mean tested persons. A water test is free and well worth checking into if your child has heavy lead. By the way dont take at face value any tests done by the NHS as coming back as normal.

I had to demand the actual results of my tests. Inititally all i got was a letter from the lab saying "essentially normal". WEll they were far from it. I had to ask for the actual numbers. You should also ask for the mean average to be included on the numbers as well so you have somehting to compare to.

complicated? yes!!!
