Has anyone got advice about crossing City/County borders?

We live in Nottinghamshire (county) - DS2 (ASD) goes to a county funded Pre-school, and will go to a county funded school. I am just about to apply for a statement naming that school. We are thinking of moving as we need more space. We have found a house we really like but its in the City. Its actually closer to the school than we are now and we will still be in the catchment area.

Will this cause problems with funding from the LA?

If it's just a mainstream school then there shouldn't be a problem. I also live near an LA border and DS went to school across the county. The statement was funded by our home LA but funds were paid to the school in the other LA.

It will probably work to your advantage as Notts are notoriously difficult when it comes to issuing statements. I don't know what City is like but I think most places will be better than Notts, I've known of other parents who have moved out of county because of the statementing issue there.
