Hi, [hsmile]

We've had this morning our 1st review since the DX.
I was confused by the app.letter, as it said app. was at with the neurology paediatric clinic but it turned out to be the ASD clinic and we saw the same paed as before as she runs it.
Which suits me just fine as she is very good and helpful.

She did a quick assessment of DS's movements and she agrees with the Camhs paed that he seems a bit clumsy. She said his ankles, wrists and fingers's joints feel loose, so OT referal will help with that, and also with the sensory issues.

DS was very good during the appointment (very himself tbh Grin ), he made a long line with the square bricks all ordered by colours, didn't want to draw or write, didn't talk at all just grunted, and was humming a lot.
She smiled and asked if he humms tunes like this often... [hgrin] err.. yep!

She asked how things were going with school and when we told her what school were saying and the problems we are having, she shook her head and said she wasn't really surprised, and that unfortunately we'd have a bit of a fight on our hands with the education side of things, it's still early days but she said if at some point statementing issues arise, she will support us.
In the meantime she is going to write a letter to Senco highliting again all his needs, and we'll get a copy too.

We won't be going down the MRI route yet, she agrees there 'could' be a link between his speech sounds problems, his eye problem with one of his pupil, a complicated birth,... but she explained that the autism dx covers all of his needs atm, so even if they did see something on the scan it would'nt be very helpful at this time, also taking in the fact that he is still young and would have to be sedated for the MRI. But she is keeping a note of it and should further concerns arise then we could discuss a referal again.

We are going to get refered to Saucepans or Jigsaw (?) to help with difficult behaviours and anxiety. She said they can also go to school if needed.

And in about 6 to 8 weeks at the hospital for the EEG and the genetic testing for Fragile X and some other disorders.

So looks like i'm going to be a busy bee with all these appointments when they start coming.
A very productive morning i'd say. Very chuffed!!

That is good news, glad things are feeling positive.

It makes such a difference if you get a good paed!

Hopefully school will have to start listening now.

Fab news, had our first review today, a total waste of time, as ds not causing problems at school (clearly home not important). Can I have your paed number.
