This bit I find confusing:

What they do or would do if they had the help they need when they go out during the day or evening.
Confused

i think it'd hobby type stuff, brownies, horse riding, music dance lessons, that kind of thing, where you would need to provide extra help for them to access it over and above other children of thier age.

clubs, hobbies things that may help with learning to become more independant ( socially and saftey wise for ds).

oh okay - thanks
so if he won't join in with a club 'cos he won't leave the house without lots of preparation would that count?

I always write the same thing everywhere:
DS is completely dependant on others for all his needs. He needs constant supervision at all times.

He has CP and epilepsy - not sure what your DS is dealing with.

If he were to join a club, would he go alone or need someone with him? Would he need supervision for his own (running off) or others (lashing out) safety. Would he need to be chivvied into taking part, need constant encouragement and reminders?

I think that's the route I'd go down - what he's need if he did go rather than him not needing any help because he can't go Sad

That makes perfect sense - thanks Smile

Oh dear....wish I'd read this before sending off my DLA forms for Ds yesterday. I just wrote "I can't answer this. He does not leave the house except to go to school in the car. He doesn't have a social life and clubs/activities are utterly impossible". May have done the wrong thing. It's tricky though. My son is 10 next month and I've got so used to living like a recluse with him that it just seems like the most absurd question to ask of me!!

that's exactly what I thought wendi!
