That's it really and I believe it says it all!

I am sat in bed with the lurgy that ds2 has now got over ( enough to be in school).. With a stack of paper work and phone calls whizzing about.. Just to getthe most simple things done / sorted and put in place for ds.
Just had a rather jumpy sounding SENco on the phone.. who was telling me things that weren't quite true about the system... And listened to him back tracking when I pointed out a few truths.

ds has gone on a school trip and to a place he knows well.. And the support I asked for, I have just found out is not in place for him.. So I'm expecting a call from school to say he's gone missing ( he'll go to his fave' bit.. Where he already knows the staff who work there.. I just know he will). This could be interesting!

Why can't school just do what is needed and has been advised without the constant chase up.

I feel for you, but don't you feel a degree of satisfaction when schools have to backtrack because you're more informed than they expect?

Hope your ds enjoys his trip and doesn't get too lost.

:) minx I'm sure he'll have a great day :) just not sure if those in charge will !

I just get fed up with beating around the bush.. Spending more time trying not to do what they actually get paid for SENcos. I believe they needs an injection of obessive focus and just say thing how they are from our dc's!

It's fortunate that he's gone somewhere he knows, doesn't bear thinking about otherwise. At least the school may listen to you next time if he does go wondering today.

Know exactly where you're coming from re beating round the bush. Thing is it never seems to end.

Hope you start feeling better soon.

Well.. He didn't get any support.. He wandered off to his quiet space.. Didn't get any of the work sheets done and was hit when he was alone by one of the long standing bullies.

I'm going into school tomorrow because I'm totally fed up with it all. oh and class tutor thinks she is providing support for his needs by telling him to stay with her indoors at every break time and then moaned that he didn't always do this.

He was fine until he was hit.. And came home and has been stimming all evening!
