HRM turned down a month ago - so upset and angry.

I applied at the end of May shortly after DS turned three. They did not contact me before this despite their letter saying they would.

I received no confirmation letter to say that they were dealing with the claim and had to keep ringing until finally (in August) I was told it was with the decision maker.

We moved house in June but whenever I asked them to check that they had the new address I was told that their Data Protection policy meant that they couldn't tell me which address they had registered Confused

Today I rang because it has been over 13 weeks and I was concerned that a letter had gone to the wrong address (despite having Royal Mail redirection) and I would not be able to request an appeal in time.

Was told that it was rejected at the beginning of the month and a "copy" of the decision would be sent to me.

Apparently this time Hmm there will be a note made on the system to confirm that I didn't know about it until today.

I don't believe them.

DH thinks this catalogue of errors will look good when we come to tribunal but I'm starting to think it was a deliberate attempt to throw a spanner in the works and we might never get an appeal now Sad

Thoughts and advice welcome...

Definitely ask fir a revision. If they say you are out of time tell them you'll go straight to appeal - including against not receiving the decision promptly.

Their computer systems are absolutely poor (substitute a word here).

I cam home from holiday once to find that DS's benefits had been stopped - because I hadn't responded to a letter i hadn't received!

I didn't even bother trying to sort it out with DW useless P - I just wrote to my MP complaining about it. Two weeks later benefit was restored and an DWP rep apologised and their computer systems were playing up so letters they stated had been sent had not actually been sent.

It wears you down.
