good ed psych in oxfordshire/berkshire

Hi,

I would like an ed. pscyh to do a school visit to see if the placement is suitable for ds and also to do an assessment. Found one in London who will only do an assessment. Can anyone recommend an ed psych in oxfordshire/berkshire?

You can search for psychologists by area and specialism at the British Psychological Society website, www.bps.org.uk. A recommendation would help though. Sorry don't know the area.

Call SOS SEN - they have a list of EPs they recommend. Do ask the EP what their specialism is and whether they have experience in writing reports/appearing at for SEND tribunals - not all do. You might not be intending to go to tribunal but it's safest to take the worst case scenario!

You might want to consider paying for an EP to travel to you/you travel to them for assessment, if you can afford the extra cost. I think it's better to pay a bit more for this to see someone recommended personally than to just pick one from the directory who happens to be local.
