Top Paed suggested ODD.
Clinical Pyschologist suggested Aspergers.

My old thread gives the details :oldthread

Where do I go from here?

My friend suggested I apply for DLA even though I haven't got a true diagnosis yet. should I ?

dla is based on care needs not on diagnosis so if your child has care needs above that of a child of their age without their difficulties the diagnosis is not needed as long as you explain the differences well and being under a paed will help too so phone up for the pack, if you phone up and then complete pack by the date they say it will be backdated once awarded to the date that you asked for the pack.

Thank you tired.
I didn't want to focus on the dla bit. I will do as you say and phone for a pack. can't do any harm.

we wait to have him assessed , in the meantime. see what that will bring to the table, as it were.

Oblov.. Glad to see your getting some answers.

I think I may have been one of the earlier posters on the old thread.
It's so easy for the few to yell 'neglect' when that just is t the case.. I know it was at me! What I can say is that by knowing the base cause of our issues ( and having that clarified with a dx). It allowed us to activley start to heal the situation. Stl not an easy road.. But far far ahead of where we started out.

And there's always a cuppa and an ear on this board.

Can't help much with the DLA bit as I'm just getting my own head around it..

< give oblov a manly punch on the arm and a big squeezy hug, and shares some thick skin.. There is light at the end of the tunnel>

When that just isn't the case!

Grrr ( fat fingers and a small phone syndrome!)
