Delayed/odd play skills

When my so was first seen by salt I was told his play skills were delayed which I was not surprised by but 2 year on (quite a bit of salt) and I cant say that I have seen much improvement. Lately he has been spending quite a lot of time scratching at the floor and sometimes the walls and furniture with things such as an toy of anything he finds. Today it was the thermometer on the carpet. I am finding it odd and got a little frustrated with him today because he is damaging things.

It sounds as if his play skills and imagination are restricted.

Has he been seen by a developmental paediatrician?

He does have a speech and language disorder possibably dyspraxia which I guess is the root of it. I just find it so odd and a bit worried as he started school this week. No he has not seen development pead. He sees salt, ot, audiology, ent.
Thanks

How old is he 2Siobhan? Did he point at things when he was two, make good eye-contact and bring things to show you? I know from my initial concerns which started with speech that these were key questions.

I'd definitely ask for a Paed to see him.

Poor you as well, with him scratching and damaging things Sad Stick around here, we're always sharing frustration Smile
