We had our tribunal 27 aug and won with the backing of the dla rep.
I have been in touch with the dla today to find out when the decision will be implemented only to be told it wont and that the decision makers at their end have decided the tribunal were wrong.
The rep said he was in full agreement with the panel and went through all the criteria stating how!
WTFShock how can they do this! It is a joke. Now we have to wait for someone in Leeds to go over it and see who they agree with.
I am livid!Angry

Shock keep your strength up!

It is ridiculous! I have been in touch with the tribunal office and asked for the minutes of the hearing. I am not going to let them get me down and I am not going to give in.

I have gone from angry to devastated for my ds. He needs the dla so we can go out.
My bil came to the tribunal with me as that is part of this job, he has said we should go to the press as he has asked about and no one has heard of them appealing when they have had a rep there who agreed with the decision.

I cannot believe that stuff like this happens - very sorry and angry for you

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 14/09/2010 17:20

we were warned this could happen when we won our appeal but they said it rarely happens. NOt thats helpful to you. so :( for you its a real PITA

jjones · 14/09/2010 17:46

I can understand the if the rep wasn't in full agreement with the panel. I just don't get it, I have searched the internet and I can find them appealing if they had no rep but nothing for if they had a rep who was agreeing with the panel.

This does sound unusual, especially with the rep's backing. I hope it just turns out to be a PITA and that you will get a big backdated payment at the end.

Did you get CAB or other professional support for the tribunal? If not, it could be helpful to seek help now, it must be quite rare as lisa123 says so they might want to take on your case as a training opportunity.

I did have professional support, my BIL works for welfare rights and came with me as my rep, he can not understand it either.
