Been sent an invite via SALT for DD2. Is it worth going?

Have been to Hanen/It Takes Two To Talk. It was v. good, and you get 4 guaranteed SALT home visits as part of the course).

I've never been on a Hanen course as they're not offered where I am, but I have their More Than Words book which is brilliant. If I had the opportunity to go on a course I'd jump at the chance.

Go. Go!

you are lucky to be offered a place, I will take it if you cant make it Wink

I called the SLT dept many time to enquire about Hanen courses and noone knows anything about it. DS has OT app on Thursday so once I am in clinic I will ask to speak to SLT in person.

Great, it's brilliant and you get loads of time with the SALTs to brain-pick. I also made some good friends out of it.

Hope you find it useful. I have the book and find it really good.

We did 'More than Words' and it was fantastic! We also got 4 SALT home visits which really helped too.

Some of the principles are fantastic and have really helped my DS.

sc13 · 14/09/2010 15:26

We did it and it was life-changing

Yes I really recommend this course. We found that it was really helpful (we went when DD was aged 2) and it ultimately has got us access to weekly SALT from the person who ran the course. Thinking about it, the best aspect long term is that I know that I am doing the right thing as a parent and have confidence in my support of DD (now aged 3.4) even though her speech is still extremely poor.
Great that you have got a place.
