I know it's not rocket science and he is nearly 8 but this is a little boy who has really struggled with reading from Reception onwards. It's only ORT stage 4 but he knew all the words and I was so pround of him. Cue big cuddles and lots of praise.

JollyPirate - my DD is also almost 8 and I will be thrilled when she finally gets to ORT level 4. Currently she is on level 2 (again). So I know exactly how thrilled you are.

(BTW DD doesn't have any SEN Confused)

I'd love ds 16 to be able to read but we've been told he'll never be able to read words more than one syllable he can remember words if he's told them but can't sound them out
