Hi everyone
Just wanted to introduce myself. Am new to the board, haven't done much lurking but will certainly be a regular face in future.
I have a dd1(3 years and 4 months) who has so far been diagnosed with global developmental delay, her motor skills and speech are those of a one year, if that. I used to live in Milan (was there for dh's job), moved back to the UK in May (I'm in Surbiton if there are any local mums around) and am slowly getting to grips with everything here - it's completely different to what I've been used to in Italy. No idea how to find local support groups etc. and am going crazy with NHS waiting lists!
dd1 is starting at a state nursery tomorrow, she's been given a place in the class for SN kids (who have mainly social communication problems) so am waiting to see how that pans out.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and look forward to chatting to you all in this forum in future, probably mainly with lots of questions!
Ciao for now,
CJ

Hi and welcome to MN Sn boards, a generally happy and supportive place.

I am Mum to 4 boys, 2 with ASD, one beinga ssessed for dyspraxia and adhd soon, and a toddler.

Hi there Smile

Hope your DD settles in at her new nursery.

The SN boards on here are great - welcome!

woolytree · 13/09/2010 18:38

HI cj and welcome to sn board. I have 3 dc's, ds1 nt, ds2 (hfa/adhd) and dd3 (nt).

Lougle · 13/09/2010 19:19

Hi cjcj, welcome to the SN board. Just jump in and post whenever you fancy - apart from the absolutely bizarre thread you may have seen today, this is usually a very friendly, informative, supportive place, and we like to think that we are welcoming Smile

I have 3 DDs; DD1 is 4.9, and has a brain malformation with global development delay and epilepsy. DD2 (3.1) and DD3 (16 months) are both NT.

DD1 starts special school on Thursday.

Are you getting a Statutory Assessment request in soon? Your DD must be a September 2011 starter for school?

anonandlikeit · 13/09/2010 19:26

Hi & Welcome.
I have ds1 10 & nt & ds2 mild cp, asd & learning difficulties

HI CJ,

Just want to say hi. My dd 2.8 has GDD.

Welcome back - hope its going well and that the nursery pans out well.

This is definitely a great place for information and help. I do not post that often because by the time I finish reading other threads its too late to post my own!

Look forward to chatting soon.

Hi cjcj

I lived in surbiton a couple of years ago and still have friends there with including a friend with a ds who sounds similar to your dd but a year older. Let me know if you want me to put you in touch.

cjcj · 14/09/2010 17:33

Hi Crunchy
Sounds good, be nice to have a local contact who knows about this kind of stuff.

Btw, is there a list of acronym definitions anywhere? Don't understand half of what's in the other posts!
