cool! Grin
ds wanted cadbury purple for his first wheelchair but instead WS ordered a plain blue one...he was sooo not chuffed...so we covered it in Lightning McQueen stickers instead! Grin

I managed to get a jenx rifton gait trainer (junior) from ebay for £50! It is perfect for little 'sneezecake's boy'. Currently he is eyeing it up with suspicion but it has all the bits to get him going without the endless OT wait. EBay is brilliant!

glittery · 11/09/2010 22:21

always wonder whether its stuff people have bought or whether its SW supplied stuff, our OT says they see loads of stuff up the car boot sale with their labels on. cheeky! Grin

It doesn't surprise me glittery.

I know a few parents who've got a mac major from OT and sold it on Ebay. naughty naughty!

devientenigma · 12/09/2010 00:20

It doesn't surprise me either. Iv'e just handed back a mac major, rollator, standing frame, wheelchair etc after years of not using them for having them replaced as he's got bigger!!
Maybe I should of tried my luck with ebay, to help with funding his car seat!! LOL X

The front wheels light up?? That's ACE!

I saw a little lad in a powerchair at V fest who had green neon strips underneath!

Glad he likes the colour :)

springlamb · 12/09/2010 19:46

Purple is good. When DS first started playing powerchair football we bought a powerchair on Ebay for £75 as he is only entitled to a manual. DH sprayed it purple and it really did the trick!
Still not entitled to a powerchair, only a manual one despite the fact that he can't self-propel. But DS has just bought himself a superfast Invacare TDX Sprint. It cost more than my car is worth.

SayItWithWine · 12/09/2010 20:35

Love the colour Purple!
Equipment bought new by OT is so expensive. a gait trainer around £800-900!. DGS may need one in the future but we're happy at the mo with ebay buy.

Lots of Piedro boots supplied by physio are sold on ebay. So disgusted at that, we will give ours back as they are sent out to under developed countries for little ones with walking problems. Can't believe people will take them for their own children with disabilities and not try to do something for poor children in other countries Sad
