Fio, I'm counting the months and days until dd gets a place at the local SN nursery - how bad is that ?

Davros · 03/09/2005 16:39

Ner, just posted on other thread that DD went back on 22nd, ha ha ha ha. Fio, why so late??
Is this a case of competitive SN mum? What's my postcode?

Tom started secondary on fri... i was in such a state...but he came back happy...so that's a great start....he'd also been affectionately called a Computer Whizz Kid by the year head...who is also taeching ICT fro the first 6 weeks....and i smiled inwardly when one of his friends was mentioned (also called a whizz kid!!!) ... as he is one of 2 boys that i am 100% certain have Aspergers too!!! I wanted Tom in the same class as this lad- but twas not to be...but i reckon now i know that the plan is to let Tom and this lad take over the ICT teaching (TEE HEE HEe!!!!)...that it was probably deliberate to have them in separate classes!!!apparently both of them were immediately utilised to 'help' the other students who are not so strong on computers!

(still...i then worry that they are seen as 'geaks'...as though it's great to be 'chosen' to help...some other kids don't always 'appreciate' the help...and in the past at primary tom has been targeted by kids due to his 'being a bit too cleaver'.,.... U can't win , can u???

MrsEffervescent · 03/09/2005 22:00

p.s...HE LURVED the fact that he could get a mars bar out of the vending machine ...whenever...and a cola too.... and i hate to admit it...but his diet is SO unhealthy... that i have struggled from day one at primary to adhere to the guidance that they gave about NO this and NO that etc...so now he can survive on crisps and mars bars...ansd cola..... (well...i am joking a little...maybe NOT every day!!!)....

seriously...it is a huge relief to not have to worry that his packed lunch is being judged by someone...well not visibly!!!

Also ...again ref lunchboxes... he was notorious at primary for losing lunch boxes....not eating |ANY of his lunch etc....and i feel this should happen far less now as he is actually allowed to take his whole school bag into the hall...take out his lunch...eat it...then put it back in the bag.... as opposed to at primary when they had to take it out their bag....put it on a trolley- take it off the trolley...eat it...then put it back on the trolley...then put it into their bag at hometime...which was WAY TOO MANY THINGS TO REMEMBER...when the child has sequencing problems!!!
