Happy for them.

Sad for me. Or him. Not sure whether to be sad for him though as he's happy.

Just one of those moments when the 'what could have been' hits.

Oh well - bright side - if he'd been going to secondary school today we would still have a rat in our spare room!

no dont think so 99% of time i deal with it knowing ds is happy and progressing at his own rate but days like today they just catch you out

Damn these 'normal' milestone dates eh.

Shows how much other people we take for granted before something like our dcs disability is thrown at us, doesn't it.

Yes, I had one of those moments last week. DD short term can only go to school part-time so I had to either find a babysitter or quit work but it was all a bit last minute panic. Found myself wishing she could just be like the others. But then I look at what a happy little soul she is and how happy she is in her new school (even part-time!) and I think, well, SHE'S not sad about being different!

roundthebend4 · 06/09/2010 10:59

ds is not sad about being differnt i hope but he is aware that he is differnt and cant do things Sad

Its hard, i went shoping for ds2's school stuff. I sawa another boy in his class there choosing his new stuff, he was picking his own lunch box & pencil case.

In my basket I had his trousers & polo shirts, age 8-9 and a new pack of dummies :(
