Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

does anyone know anything about special schools transfers from one county to another, or attending the closest school which is out of county?

we are moving county, our child already attends an sld/pmld school and the same provision has to be provided for in our new county. The cloesest school is 'out of county' and they are just refusing outright to give her a place, and yet would quite happily tranpost her to a school double the distance away.

Does anyone know what our rights are with regards to this? I am just a bit Hmm that they think an hour on a bus is preferable to 15 mins up the road.

Hi PawMum, you are best reposting in the SN (Children) section as it tends to get a lot more traffic than this bit.

There are lots of posters who have been through similar situations and can give you advice on your rights.

In our area they state that no child should be on the school bus for more than an hour, could you get them to change there minds based on that?
