if so can you tell me the highs and lows please.
we have to start looking for a new WAV in February, I plan to stay with the renault master, but was thinking of asking for a lift this time, but am worried as not sure if they work well on hills.

Ekk don't say that as Wav we just ordered has lift in

I'm guessing depends on how much of a hill there is one we tried lift goes almost flat with a little flappy bit fir onto the lift and am hoping that since it does not need to be perfectly balanced should be ok on gentle slopes anyway .Maybe worth calling converters asking them

need lot less room behind you as well as does not come out so much

Ours will not arrive to January now :(

my friend has a side lift and I know she had loads of trouble as if it is on a hill it won't go back in, but I don't know if the back ones are the same.

Hmm one we tried the lift ends up folding in on it's self so stood on end in the boot space seemed very smooth to fold though is only gentle slope here

I pass my test ok January will come down let you have a fiddle feeling it's going to be for me any exscuse to be out

How do the side ones slide in do they go inside the wav or slot underneath it?

2shoes · 30/08/2010 19:48

think they go under neath,
maybe that is the difference.

The position of the side one depends on the model of the WAV, some are underneath and some are inside. I was always put off the side ones due to the problems of always managing to find a suitable parking space allowing room for the ramp/lift. We had one of these in Florida on holiday as our hire car and it was fine but I found their disabled spaces very roomy and find here they can be quite tight sometimes.

We have a WAV with a rear access one and the only problems I have had have been on uneven surfaces such as driveways with stones, but I just press on the flap at the end and its ok (hope that makes sense!) Its a VW Transporter converted into a WAV.

Ah yes where the master goes inside the boot area but found it does not take up much room either was suprisedby how much space in there am getting excited about having one

meltedmarsbars · 30/08/2010 20:37

Shoulk I be looking at a lift next time? We have the VW transporter with a manual ramp atm.

i might ask if we can test one, we have a renault master with a ramp and a winch, i am wavering as I doubt if motorbily will be keen on paying for a lift(but we can get the DR to back it up)

2shoes when we did our grant for master they said the ramps and lift came out same price,

so gave us the lift as said ok ds small now but 5 years time not so little .and he is a lot smaller than your dd he sonly 5 now and a tiny 15 kg

depends who you go with for the master

www.headchannel.net/motability/View.aspx?carid=64

is who were going with there deposit lot better than the others

roundthebend4 · 30/08/2010 21:22

only thing were doing is not having the left hand seat at the back as rather keep extra boot room

2shoes · 30/08/2010 23:18

we hopefully will go with that dealer, we got our present van from him(and a full grant from motorbility) they were very good, and send us a lovely christmas card:o
i might see if someone at dd's school has a lift on a master so I can have a look.
I get on ok with the ramp, but she has tilted a couple of times and the winch takes forever.(i can't push her manual up the ramp)

Yes it was plus window tints etc. I liked it as meant ds was behind me rather than stuck in the boot and his sister can sit beside him

2shoes · 31/08/2010 10:47

me too, I hate the idea of her being stuck right at the back
