SEN Tribunal HELP! LA costings

We have asked the LA to breakdown the costs for our child as a comparison for tribunal (of an ABA -v- mainstream package for 4 year old). They have come back with the predictable argument that there are no costs to their EP or autism outreach service of our child being on their books as they "would not need to employ a teacher or EP specifically for our child it is a whole service cost"

Obviously there is a cost - if their were no users they would not need to fund a service.
Does anyone know how to get these costs? What should we be asking for? Is it the total cost of the service divided by the number of children (although some children would receive more input than others).

Are there any cost estimates generally available online we could quote?

We are up against a time limit
Equally does anyone have an estimate for half termly SALT visits and annual review?
Even ballpark figures would help.

Please.....

I did win some ABA hours for my dd's programme. In the costings I worked out the cost of her 1:1 TA in school versus the tutor costs per week (these were roughly similar), for SALT I used a figure of 80.00 per hour. I also had a SALT report that said she would need much more SALT if she was not accessing her ABA programme. The main cost differential in my case was the cost of the ABA supervisor (around 500.00 per month). However my daughter was doing about 18 hours of ABA at that time. I didn't get it all in the end and receive funding for 11 tutor hours and they pay the supervision. Hope this helps. Fingers crossed for you.

Agnes, I just did a quick MN search of your posting name, do you live in L? If so, I will do a few googles to see what I can come up with.

Righto. Do you want links? It would out your location somewhat though (I am rubbish at geography, so it took me a while to work out where you were talking about Blush)

Lougle · 23/08/2010 20:14

To be honest, you will get the same as I do if you just plug in

"Your location" "Section 251 budget"

into google.
