DS has been really good so far this holiday and suddenly i have that "back to school" sinking feeling. Am I the only one who is dreading it?

i can't wait. Grin

dd2 is also hugely excited (she keeps saying 'i wish it was monday')

it will be interesting though - this year her teacher seems to be of the impression that dd2 doesn't require any support and that she has been mollycoddled. but i could be wrong.

anyhoo, i popped into school this morning and her new laptop has arrived Grin so it looks as though they are getting organised, at least.

unfortunately, her ot and physio are leaving this month, and local policy is that now you are discharged at the end of a block of therapy, and have to be re-referred after a month, because the waiting lists are out of control. but they do accept parental/ school or gp/paed referral.

hey ho.

but i think i'm more nervy about ds1... he's been getting a lot better over the summer with the wetting and soiling, but is still very ODD-ish, so i'm flapping a bit how he will react to his new teacher.

thankfully dd1 will chug on regardless. Grin

I've just done the school uniform shopping today (25% off at Sainsbury's for anyone else who needs to stock up!).

I've got mixed feelings about DS going back - he's starting a special secondary so I know there will be much more understanding and support. It's a residential place though so it will be a very very empty house here Sad.

This morning I told ds that he goes back to school next week and he looked shocked and shaken. He kept quiet for a little while and then decided it was a joke and ignored it. Don't know how we are going to cope next week - he has been such a different child this summer from the sad, tense and stressed boy at the end of last term. Sad

I wish there was a "compassionate" emoticon. Some of you have a lot on your plates in the next few weeks. And as for your children...I wish we could just wave a magic wand and make it all better.
