Got to nursery this morning to be told that DD has been given a full time place with 1:1 support, 8.55-2.30, you could have knocked me down with a feather.

Wish it was like that for everyone though. Sad Was told that lots of others have been turned down, which is wrong.

That is fantastic Smile

looks like pickups might be OK too, which is a relief...

It will be much needed respite, I am currently a tired blubbing-at-drop-of-hat wreck after day 1 of nursery, didn't get 1 hour to myself over school holidays!

The staff are also great there and she loves it.

Fanjo that's great Grin

(know what you mean about respite - I've only had two weeks with no nursery/ABA & I feel like jumping out of the window Wink - back to normal next week thank god!)

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 20/08/2010 15:44

I am absolutely shattered at the end of 7 weeks...DD has also been up for several hours every night this week which hasn't helped!

Well, I didn't think I made efforts..but I have worked very closely with the staff which has brought DD on lots, and at the meeting with professionals at end of term I presented a very good account of how much DD has improved at nursery, I suppose Smile

Or maybe it's just luck. Still I am quite embarrassed that others have to fight though. It shouldn't be me who feels embarrassed I suppose though, but the LEA.

Well done Fanjo, thats great news, it will be great for both of you.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 20/08/2010 20:10

it is good, I work two of the afternoons but it will be good to be less reliant on my mum and aunty for childcare, they are in their 70s and find DD very tiring, so a few hours will be just right.

I felt the same Fanjo, whn DS2 was awarded ull time 1:1. I couldn't understand how I got it so easy and others had to battle for a few hours. I guess sometimes it is luck and other times it is how good of a case and who you have fighting it. I had excellent EP and SALT recommendations.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 20/08/2010 22:07

I suppose the fact that DD can't really speak and is totally hyperactive probably helped a little!! Smile
