His comments get reported then deleted (like the comments to Riven yesterday) but he is still here.

Glitterknickaz · 18/08/2010 12:06

Deleting comments isn't really cutting it though is it?
He's racist as well going by the Longleat thread

ShadeofViolet · 18/08/2010 12:10

I suppose its difficult for MN to prove his a troll rather than a nutter with awful views.

2shoes · 18/08/2010 12:12

the very idea that anyone could think that death is good for a child is sick, and as much as she pretends otherwise that is the context she used the comment in.

I've had a thought about this. it stems from 2 things. the first is some quote that i will now misquote about not judging someone until you have walked a mile in their shoes. the second was a hilarious thread about taking our dear SN DCs on really inappropriate days out. I then thought about this as an ill thought out idea - we pick a day, only known to carers. We then 'leave' our DCs with our chosen ignoramus at a time which will cause them complete chaos. we then disappear for the day and/or night to get some much needed r and r. Can imagine if the thousands of carers for SN and elderly with dementia etc, were to do this all on the same day. The country would grind to a halt! the ill thought out part is the fact that we care and we know deep down that we might cause more distress to those we love and not the ignoramus - but it made me think who i'd like to pick!

im feeling like crap today-
i usually try and stay positive but it isnt working today.
i wish i could go to bed and stay there.
reading some of the stuff thats been said on some of the threads has brought it home to me even more just how some people think.
i might just leave as im finding it depressing.
[im not on about the threads on SN]
yes-wankers.

TheJollyPirate · 18/08/2010 14:51

Don't leave sparky - not worth letting them get you down. Some people hold terrible views buit there are more of us who don't hold the same opinions.

#dont Riven, sparky then they have won and yes theres some whos views well , but then there are the support to what keeps me going

Glitterknickaz · 18/08/2010 16:11

There's those of us here who find them utterly abhorrent, Riven, and we really do care so don't disappear x

And Sparky too x

pagwatch · 18/08/2010 16:18

Riven & Sparky

quite honestly I think the views are a minority.
I think most people are quite nice and empathetic.
But people steer clear of conversations about SN if they feel unqualified to comment.
And the 'just ignore, stop being offended' types are very vocal.

By all means we need to take a break every now and again but I think the more of us get silenced the harder it is on the few who remain.

And i don't say that to put pressure on or burden you. I just think the more we can support each other the more valuable it is...
And Riv look at whatyou do here. Look at how many people are informed by your posts. Look at what you did to Dave...

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 18/08/2010 16:22

Am tempted to go too, as there suddenly seems a plethora of awful people on MN instead of a few. Or the judgy/Tory threads have just exposed them.

But I won't. Hope noone else does either!

2shoes · 18/08/2010 17:06

i will not leave because of the knobs.
there are countless good people on here,
I will stay and talk to them and ignore the x's and B's

It is a bit scarey how few people challenge certain opinions, I agree. (I find the same thing in Ireland about travellers). I would have hoped that David Cameron would have ringfenced special needs provision, or have improved it - but I suppose that's hoping against hope!

CerysM · 18/08/2010 18:06

'shock troll'...I love it!

sparky159 · 18/08/2010 20:00

Thankyou.
oh im just having a horrible day-might be better tommorrow.
usually these things wouldnt bother me but
i think its because ive been worrying about things lately so when ive seen these stupid things said-it just got the better of me a bit.
yep-i agree with you Pagwatch-tommorrow another day eh.
