Only thing I can suggest is biological soap powder (obviously dissolved and used to wash the carpet, or i suppose liqyuid wash diluted instead) - reason I say this is we were told when we first got our dog that if he wee'd to wash it with that as it would take away the smell so he would not wee again in the same place.

Worth a try anyway - good luck!

I am the queen of clearing up wee and the only thing that worked for us was copious amounts of Febreze-I should have shares in that bloody company...good luck

Ive been trying the gel kind....with febreze in it! Got a 1st birthday party for my DS on Saturday....lots of babies trapped in a wee smelly room!

Thanks for advice Ill keep trying!

Dd2 wee'd on the computer chair a few days ago, we tried evry thing to get out the smell, eventualy we had to replace the chair . Luckily, other than the computer chair, our house is wee proofed (fake leather sofa, laminite flooring, no rugs etc..). We got rid of the carpet after toilet training dd1 (our carpet got wee'd on 100's of times and our house stank).

Sorry i can't be any more help .

Spinkle · 02/08/2010 17:49

Heh heh. We've done toilet training with ds and dog and now I've had enough of the honk. New carpet next month...

Nothing seems to work.

woolytree · 02/08/2010 17:50

Its rented...the room is massive so we cant afford to laminate...done the hall, got a leather sofa!

Im thinking more cleaning and a rug down for the party!

How about dettol

We use "Urine-Off" stain and odour remover. It's marketed for use with pets but works just as well on human wee!

kittyfu · 03/08/2010 08:22

i spend most of my life cleaning up wee, and i agree with vixen get a good pet cleaner, i like the the one by rug doctor, gets rid of wee, vomit and blood.

Sleepwalking · 03/08/2010 09:46

Have given in with all cleaners and am just pulling up our last carpet.

Baking soda absorbs smells well as does a cut onion!

Urine off is the best thing ever for getting wee smells out.
My house smells of wee and poo most of the time. Ds's nappies are taken away once a week so they are stored in the downstairs loo. Only place for them but by the end of the week it is a bit wiffy.
If you can get rid of carpets as they hold the smell for so long.
Disenfectant can sometimes make the smell worse so be careful.
Something odour neutralising like bicarb of soda or charcoal might work.
Giving it a good steam clean will also get rid of nasty wiffs but you have to do it so often it gets expensive.
Open windows as much as you can, it gets a bit drafty but then the smell wafts out of the windows. You need about 2-4 hours fresh air coming in a day to replace the wiffy air with fresh air.

Cheers everyone! It smells a bit better today...may get worse as it dries out so Ill get the Urine off asap!

Bicarb. Works wonders!

pull the carpet up temporarily and scrub the floorboards underneath.
