Dd2 has finished her main nursery, today is her 2nd day off, she's already fed up, grumpy and confused. Her understanding is not great so i can't explain to her that there is no nursery. I spent half an hour driving around in the car this morning (before taking dd1 to school) to calm he down . Only 6 weeks to go. How am i going to keep her busy?

What about a basic visual timetable, similar to her nursery routine (eg playtime, snack etc).

I think the first few days are a nightmare, so it will hopefully improve for you.
I bet I will be doing the same thread in a few days

I'm worried about setting a routine as in a few days dd1 will be off school as well and the routine will have to change again to suit dd1 (who is also ASD). Once dd1 is off too then we can start planning days out and activities. This week is a bit of a night-mare as i have dd1's swimming gala, teddy bears picnic, GP appointments and last day of school (Its too stressful for me let alone dd2). Hopefully once we get through this week it will get easier (fingers crossed).

I was going to start toilet training but she's too stressed at the moment, i dont want to make things worse.

I think you might be wise to postpone the toilet training for now

I think you are right, it might be a case of muddling through these few days as best you can. It's hard, though, and I feel for you -a day can feel like a week, can't it?

Every activity i give her seems to end up with the house being trashed. She's drawing at the moment but wont stick to drawing on the paper, she has to colour in her whole body with felt tip pens as well as the furniture.

I have to take dd1 to the gp at 11.20 so i think i will take them for a picnic before taking dd1 back to school. At least then she can make a mess outside instead of smearing food all over the house .
