V quick background. DS1 going through statementing at the moment. Deadline for getting reports in is tomorrow.

We have put in our report already. We are very worried about the OT report as she has only seen him once in the last 9 months and I don't feel that she is going to write a strong enough report or say that he needs regular OT. Our portage worker has intimated that we will probably need to get another OT report.

We have found an independent OT and she came to see DS1 last week for the first time. The problem that she is going on holiday for 2 weeks and so there is no chance of getting a report in soon.

Are we better off waiting to see what the NHS OT says, and what the draft statement says (assuming its granted), and then challenge with an independent OT report, or should we try and put a report in now, even though its going to be late.

TIA

See what the others say, but I'd send the report in now, and then send the OT report in as soon as you get it. Make a phone call and write a note to explain that.

Have spoken to LEA - they will give us until mid-August to put in an independent OT report in. The lady we have seen can't do it though so I'm still looking for a paediatric OT and they seem to be few and far between in our area!!

I feel less about putting in a report late now that I've spoken to the LEA and found out that they have not yet received reports from the NHS OT, SALT, EP or inclusion team and the deadline was yesterday....
