Going on poo hunts! - Anyone else find themselves doing bizarre things in the name of SN??

I've probably killed this thread before it's even started but does anyone else find themselves hunting around the house for lost poo? The culprit is ds2 (2.6yrs)who somehow manages to tip out the contents of his nappy as he races around the house. Dh will often appear in the doorway holding a nappysack full of poo pellets that he's found either inside the house or out in the garden. We then end up following the trail to find any more lurking poo.

It doesn't help that ds2 doesn't wear anything on his feet in the house so there's always the chance of small brown feet too. Ewww!

The poo hunt is bizarrely a slight improvement on previous behaviour. Ds2 used to just take the nappy off and throw it at whoever or whatever happened to be nearest. He has an oversensitive bum (I'm sure he'll thank me for sharing that when he's older ) so doesn't like anything near it.

Please reassure me that we are not the only ones who have to do these kinds of things!

Unfortuantly for us, the poo is usually found on Ellies hands! Am v v fed up with it!

Even teaching in a bog standard comp I am amazed at some of the daft things I end up doing/saying. I can't believe that I do this sort of thing for a living

last term caught myself saying 'X stop drawing on Ys face. Y STOP LETTING HIM!' and then thought WTF????? (kids were NT and 15 btw!)

Yes I have to say we don't need to search for it, as we usually find it plastered up the walls in the bedroom, in the cot and all over hands. Luckily ( touch wood) no problem in daytime yet, just nights so we have resorted to back to front zip up sleepsuits and brown tape, ( but somehow she still manages to occasionally get her nappy off!!

oh the joys of poo hunting, happy to say that those days seem to be over for us now but we did have 3 autie kids who liked to empty the poo from there nappies i think the worst one was when the very unhelpful health vistor called, our son who was three at the time had unbeknown to us emptied his nappy, this only became apparent when i was seeing the HV off at the door i happened to look down and she had a huge poo sitting very neatly on the top of her shoe, well i didn't like to say anything, so i didn't , however when i got back in the house and told hubby he mentioned that our son had spent a fair bit of time lokking and emptying the HV beiefcase and i am sure he put poo in there too, oh the shame, didn't get any more vists from that HV

Now CT..... you share this 'pastime' with a very famous lady (well...to us ASD mums anyway)

Seriously.....i know how you feel!!!

Last week i saw tom (11- AS/ADHD) looking very guilty...hands between his legs...NO!!! NOT DOING THAT!!!!!.... so i 'stupidly', as it turned out..... demanded he give me what he was hiding .....AND HE DID!!!

And what it turned out to be was a huge bogey freshly picked out of his nose.....and 'bless him' he simply wiped it into my hand.....

then i had to explain how idealy i'd rather he hadn't picked his nose...but that sometimes when people ask for you to give them something...that 'just maybe' (in the case of bogeys...) it's better to get a tissue to put it in first!!!!

i dont have to go on poo hunts with my son but he does have a fascination with the stuff hes 8 and has AS/ASD, recently he has taken to taking his undies off and showing me the ahem-brown stains in them and then yesterday he stuffed them in his mouth-i know gross, last night i was on the loo-we have an outside one, and he climbed on top of the garden wall and shouted out loud-everyone my mum is having a poo!- oh the shame especially as there were a few neighbours in their gardens it being only 18.30pm, i actually wasnt "having" what he said i was but was embarresed non the less!
